Holiday Card Alternative
Every holiday season, I try to send out cards to my friends. This season, I was running a little late, so I decided to send out “winter” cards with quotes about snow on them instead of “happy holidays,” since the holidays are over. Since I’m a college student, this is a bit of an out-of-the-ordinary practice, and most of my friends have called or emailed to tell me how much they appreciate the card, but one friend in particular says he leaves the card in his mailbox so he has something to make his day every time he checks his mail. When I heard this, I felt flattered, and appreciated, and realized that I really could have an effect on someone’s day.
