Make someone's day.

Singing Sweetly

I was sitting in the back row of the church on Christmas Eve this year between my best friend and my parents. During Communion, the congregation sings Christmas hymns. I like to sing and Christmas hymns are some of my favorite songs. My voice tends to carry and my friends like to make fun of that fact. Anyway, after the service, a lady sitting in the row in front of us, turned around and asked who was singing so nicely. My friends pointed at me and I shyly raised my hand. She came over and took my hand and thanked me. She said that my singing had made her Christmas. We had just had Communion and celebrated the birth of our Savior and yet, my singing had made her Christmas. I almost started to cry, thinking that something so small could make someone else so happy.
